To celebrate this wonderfully balmy weather we’ve been having (at least today), ABS will be giving away a complete set of The Body Shop’s LemonAid collection – a great line that refreshed body & soul! This campaign has enabled The Body Shop to donate $15,000.00 to EPCAT-USA and The Somaly Mam Foundation to help stop sex trafficking. So how did they do it? Well people simply had to:
- Fan The Body Shop USA on Facebook = $2 donation
- Follow us on Twitter = $2 donation
- Use the hashtag #LemonAid on Twitter = $.50 donation
- Enter the sweepstakes to win a Sweet Lemon gift pack by entering your email = $1 donation
- Visit the “Squeeze Me!” widget and either squeeze a lemon or install the widget below. Every lemon squeeze = $.50 and each widget install = $1 donation
While the campaign has now ended, I’d say fan The Body Shop USA on Facebook and follow them on Twitter anyway for all the good that they’ve done! And of course, enter to win your very own LemonAid Collection – check out the deets after the jump!
The giveaway package is comprised of:
The Body Shop recently relaunched a collection of some of their favorite products from the 80’s (brought up to date with 100% recycled PET bottles and community trade ingredients) and guess who’ll be reviewing them all for you? Me of course! The Originals collection includes a few deliciously-scented body washes (think green apple, peach, etc.), a cool icy blue shampoo, a breakfast-appropriate banana conditioner and even a few great products for face. Review of everything to come shortly!
I’m a little late with this but things have been a little busy over here at the ABS headquarters (aka my house LOL) – but I know you’ve all been anxious to find out who won the $159 worth of lovely The Body Shop cosmetics goodies!

Today through Wednesday (3/9-3/11) you can purchase The Body Shop’s 6-piece Makeup Brush Roll Set (a $90 value!) for only $15 with any online purchase. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the quality of The Body Shop’s brushes, which are made with super soft and plush cruelty-free synthetic hairs.
If you’ve been needing some new brushes, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up a great set at an absolutely amazing price, and lucky for you there are some fab deals going on @ The Body Shop! My suggestion would be to check out their spring makeup collection, as the entire line is currently $5 off and the products are to die for. Check out my reviews of their Roseflower Radiance Stick, Roseflower Eyes Shadow, and Roseflower Lips. And if you’re thinking you only want one product from the spring line, definitely go for the lipsticks, they’re amazing!
The Roseflower Radiance Stick is a sheer lightweight highlighter that comes in handy, twist up form and contains Community Trade marula oil helps to repair skin’s moisture barrier. I usually avoid stick blushes/highlighters at all costs because I can never really get them to blend without an inordinate amount of pulling and tugging at my skin, but this product glides on beautifully and has a soft, almost velvety texture that just feels heavenly against the skin.
I wouldn’t really recommend this for those of you who are on the very very oily side as it may aggravate that and simply make you look like a disco-ball, but for everybody else this is a great and easy way to highlight the contours of your face. I use this along the tops of my cheekbones most days, and on those days that I want to emphasize my bone-structure even more, I make a large “C” shape starting from beneath my browbone, swinging around my eye then along my cheekbones if that makes any sense.
All The Body Shop Roseflower collection products are currently $5 off, so definitely check out this line as I was really surprised by how lovely everything is!
I’m a huge sucker for “treatment” makeup, meaning makeup that also doubles as treatment for your skin, so the fact that The Body Shop’s spring shadows contain marula nut oil and shea butter for moisturization and hydration means that I like them all that much more.
On the downside, the shadow tended to be a bit crumbly in the pan which can make for some messiness and more importantly, can be rather annoying. Also, if you’re a fan of shimmer and glitter, contrary to its appearance in the pan, this is a rather matte shadow.
All in all though I really do like this product. I never ever go without some kind of base on my eyes because my oily eyelids melt away any and all traces of eye makeup within an hour or two, but I was in a rush this day so applied Mint Green without anything underneath and check out the pigmentation! Plus it lasted amazingly well–I was seriously impressed!
These Roseflower lipsticks from The Body Shop’s spring Moroccan Rose collection are delicately imbued with a light rose fragrance and contain moisturizing Community Trade organic beeswax and marula oil from Namibia helps to repair your skin’s moisture barriers.
