How Do You Achieve Picture Perfect Skin?

January 12, 2010

I’ve got a pretty major gala to go to tomorrow evening and it’s got me wondering – what are your secrets to attaining picture perfect skin?

My current routine has been serving me well for the past week or two, although it literally changes every month or so. I’ve rediscovered my love for the Innisfree BB Mousse despite its many flaws (a little messy, dries too quickly to blend easily, only comes in one shade) , and topped with a bit of the amazing CDP concealer I received from Nicole and quick spritz from my TEMPTU airbrush system I’m on the road to perfection (or as close to perfection as my skin ever gets).

I’m probably going to keep the rest of my makeup relatively simple – probably a neutral shadow with slight shimmer, some black liner along my upper lash line, a ton of mascara and an understated lip. Let’s hope all goes well!

Innisfree Oil Free BB Mousse SPF 30 PA+++ Review & Swatches

Innisfree Oil Free BB Mousse SPF 30 ($14.90)

I tried to be a good little beauty blogger and to resist temptation, but I ended up buying half the things I posted about HERE and I’m not the slightest bit ashamed! Primarily because I just can’t seem to muster up that much guilt when I order things from Sasa–buying cosmetics from overseas doesn’t really count as shopping, right? 😉

Innisfree’s Oil Free BB Mousse contains botanical nutrient extracts and essences from organic plants to nourish your complexion, with the added bonus of SPF 30. I’m sure it’s pretty obvious that the main reason I wanted this was that it came in mousse form–the concept of foundation in a can is oddly appealing.

The first day I used this I shook the can, squirted a dallop of product into the palm of my hand and applied it to my face–and the results? Well lackluster at best. Coverage was ultra sheer and my skin was oily within 2 hours or so.

However I was determined to make this work and gave it another shot a few days later–and figured out how to make this really work for me! I actually ended up wearing 2-3 layers of this and discovered that it gave me medium coverage and resulted in pretty much flawless looking skin–my pores were deemphasized and it just looked like I had great skin. Innisfree’s BB Mousse dries to a nice matte yet silky looking finish and while it’s not the best for oil control, I love it as a tinted moisturizer-like product, a foundation prep, or simply as a great non-sticky SPF.

Palmful of Innisfree BB Mousse

Spread onto my hand–it’s surprisingly liquidy.

Pretty flawless, no?

I’m usually very anti-heavy layering of products on my face, but with Innisfree’s BB Mousse even after two or three layers I can hardly tell that I have anything on my face, the mousse is that light. I love that I get such great SPF protection in such a non-sticky product, and I can definitely see myself repurchasing in the future. I’ve actually been wearing this exclusively for the past few days–it’s really been working well for me!
