TEMPTU at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week 2009

September 18, 2009
TEMPTU for Reem Acra

Temptu, the leader in professional makeup, was backstage at New York Fashion Week’s Spring 2010 Shows, leading the way with trendsetting beauty and revolutionary new makeup techniques. For spring, the boldest beauty statement was flawless skin and fresh-faced accents of shimmer and color, with Temptu’s high-definition, airbrush makeup defining the looks at Reem Acra, Max Azria and Lorick.

The Reem Acra Look: The debut of Reem Acra’s Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection lived up to the internationally-renowned designer’s reputation for elegance and glamour. Makeup Artist Maxine Leonard led the Temptu Pro Team in creating a natural look to offset the collection’s extravagance of bright colors and heavily adorned jewelry. The team used Temptu S/B Airbrush Foundation to achieve a clean, natural look on the skin, with Temptu S/B airbrush makeup in Champagne Shimmer and Blush to create a youthful flush and drama.

TEMPTU for Max Azria

The Max Azria Look: For Spring 2010, Max Azria introduced a clean and sleek collection of elegance that incorporated neutral, solid colors with post-modern touches. Makeup Artist extraordinaire Lisa Butler’s approach to the makeup was to create a soft, subdued, and fresh look to complement the collection’s uncomplicated sophistication, “We wanted the girls to look as fresh and natural as possible,” said Butler.

To achieve this level of minimalistic elegance, Butler used the TEMPTU AIRbrush Makeup System, with the AIR Pod Highlighter in Champagne to add light and sheer accents underneath the brow bone, around the sides of the eyes, on top of the cheeks, and on the lips with a touch of clear mascara to lift the eyebrows. The simplicity of this look saw no other additional makeup. “Using airbrushing as an application technique really pulled the essence of natural beauty together,” said Butler. “It provides light, natural-looking coverage while adding dimension to the face.”

TEMPTU for Lorick

The Lorick Look: Airbrushed champagne shimmer on cheekbones and temple created contour and drama, while accents such as teal and black eyeliners set the stage for the individual looks. A common ingredient in all three beauty presentations? Champagne Highlighter – Spring’s fast growing trend, which McCary applied using the Temptu AIRbrush Makeup System and AIR Pod Highlighter in Champagne to complete each look.

Fashion Week Survival Kit from L’Oreal!

September 17, 2009

The very sweet people over at L’Oreal Paris were generous enough to send over this absolutely AMAZING Fashion Week survival kit chock full of fun goodies! Everything was packaged into this great Carlos Falchi Large Metallic Shopping Tote which is fabulous to take to events as you can fit a ton of stuff in there.

A close-up of the goodies: I’ve actually been dying to try L’Oreal’s Elnett Satin hairspray after having heard so much about its amazingness for so long, so I’m glad to finally have a can in my hands! Plus the can is just so beautiful to look at ~ and can you believe L’Oreal is celebrating 100 years of beauty?!

The mesh bag on the left contained all sorts of necessities such as band-aids, Alka-Seltzer, Tylenol, hair ties & bobby pins (these have come in so handy!), Foot Petals, some Jergens Lotion, a Sharpie and tons of other random bits (like a mini sewing kit) that every woman on-the-go needs.

And for the makeup! Of course there was the Elnett hairspray, then 2 mascaras (Extra Volume Collagen and Telescopic Explosion which I had been seriuosly itching to get my hands on!), a Revitalift eye cream, Skin Genesis wipes (OMG these are so great!), HIP Chrome Liners (yet another OMG item – these are seriously like liquid metal and amongst the best pencil liners I’ve ever tried!), a Brow Stylist and two Infallible 6-Hour glosses (reviewing these for you soon but they’re seriously great too!).

Thank you so so much to the wonderful people over at L’Oreal for their incredible generosity!

Photos From The Clinique/Milly Fashion’s Night Out Event!

September 17, 2009

The 59th Street Bloomingdales Clinique counter celebrated the coming together of beauty and fashion and the launch of Fashion Week by collaborating with fashion designer Milly (whose work I absolutely adore ~ she makes the prettiest, girliest dresses).

To celebrate, Clinique & Milly released a chic, one-of-a-kind, makeup bag exclusively at Bloomingdale’s and co-hosted an exclusive cocktail party for fashionistas, Fashion Week goers and VIPs.

Milly designer Michelle Smith stated, “I’m excited to celebrate Milly’s collaboration with Clinique on an evening dedicated to fashion and inspiring consumers to get out and shop. The Milly for Clinique bag and my favorite items inside are the perfect way to keep every woman looking beautiful this fall.”

Everyone had a fabulous time meeting with Michelle, having her sign their makeup bags, receiving “Milly for Clinique” makeovers, listening to great music from the DJ and sipping on flutes of champagne.

I’m sure it must have been such a thrill for all of the attendees to meet with Milly’s designer, Michelle Smith, and to check out her makeup picks. And how cute were her shoes?!

Did You Celebrate Fashion’s Night Out? A Peek At Sephora’s TEMPTU Event

September 11, 2009
Model getting TEMPTU tattoos applied in the Sephora Fifth Avenue window (these photos were obviously taken through glass).

I didn’t actually plan to stop by the Sephora Fashion’s Night Out event at their Fifth Avenue store (I happened to be walking from one event to another) but I’m a sucker for live models in store windows! The Fifth Ave. Sephora location teamed up with TEMPTU (with clothing provided by Just Cavalli) to provide free airbrush experiences for all, and had tattoo applications and other TEMPTU fun going on with the models in the store windows!

The event (especially the live women in the windows) created quite the scene on Fifth Avenue but I managed to squeeze in fora few close-ups.

I actually own one of TEMPTU’s temporary tattoo kits, which I know I’ve promised to review for you. I’m a little back-logged right now but I hope to have it coming soon!

And I just had to post a close-up of this model’s face because I think her makeup is just gorgeous – if only neutrals looked as hot on me!

How was your Thursday night? Did you happen to stop by any Fashion’s Night Out events in your area to celebrate the launch of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week?
