Did anybody catch the broadcast of the Grammy nominations two nights ago? Katy Perry debuted her new short-banged hairstyle. What do you think? Jet black hair doesn’t work for everyone, but Katy Perry can certainly pull it off.

And note to self – learn how to recreate those big bouncy waves in her hair!

Get The Look: Leighton Meester’s Red Lips

December 2, 2009

You all know I’m a big fan of L’Oreal’s Infallible Plumping Lipglosses, and apparently so is Leighton Meester! According to the multi-talented starlet, “L’Oreal Paris Infallible Plumping Lipgloss in Plumped Red gives me that extra little color boost when I really want my lips to pop.” The Infallible Gloss formula contains a patent-pending shine polymer that creates a long-lasting, supple film of color on top of lips to give you color and shine that lasts for hours on end.

Don’t remember my review of these? Check out the original post and swatches (including Plumped Red) and be sure to head over to your local drugstore to test them out for yourself!

Get In The Know with Rachel Zoe and KohGenDo!

October 2, 2009

I know many of you can’t stand her, but I happen to be a huge Rachel Zoe fan – she’s adorable, ridiculously fashionable and just downright funny – plus she’s got great taste in makeup, something I always love in a woman.

For her September 18th appearance on The View, celebrity makeup guru Daniel martin used KohGenDo products (this is one line of cosmetics I’ve been dying to get my hands on) to achieve a flawless look.

To achieve Rachel’s flawless look, Daniel used KohGenDo’s:

  • Yellow Makeup Color Base
  • Moisture COncealer
  • Aqua Foundation in OC-2 (with a touch of Moisture Foundation in PK23 for color match)
  • Natural Lighting Powder
  • Fresh Face Cheek Color in Caramel Bronze
  • Lipstick in Nude Beige BE04
  • Oriental Plants Essence

The products that I’m interested in? Well for one the Makeup Color Base which comes in green yellow and pearl white; green for radiant and luminescent skin, yellow to correct and brighten the skin tone, and pearl white to lend your complexion a natural glow.

I’ve also been dying to try the Maifanshi Moisture Foundation which is not only great for high def photos but for in person viewing. I’ve heard it’s fabulous for covering pores, age spots, and any other flaws you may want to hide. Oh and let’s not forget the Aqua Foundation, which like my current fave Kanebo Fluid Foundation, is primarily water based and sounds just fabulous.

Have you tried KohGenDo’s products before? Please share your thoughts in the comments!
