Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer Review & Swatches

Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer ($70)

The Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer has been on my lust-list for the longest time, but $70 for a mere 0.17 ounces of product can be a little hard to stomach. Lucky for me, I’ve got wonderful friends like Nicole who send me products like this for Christmas.

Cle de Peau Beaute’s Concealer is a makeup-artist and celebrity favorite and one highly editorialized product – it’s an In Style Award winner and it’s nearly impossible to miss it being featured in various magazines. And while I’m not usually one to buy into product hype (nor was I much of a concealer user in the past), this concealer has made a believer out of me. Check out the rest of the review and additional photos after the jump!

Packaging: While nothing spectacular, the minimalistic sleek black tube accented with Cle de Peau’s logo and capped with q gemstone-like blue accent is extremely portable (I was a little shocked by just how small this was for $70 – I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of a stick foundation) although it can tend to get lost amongst my glosses and lipsticks. It’s chic and simple – nothing gaudy or ostentatious here!

The Formula: So we’re finally getting to what I absolutely love about this product – the formula. Looking at it initially, I was worried about dryness and skin drag, but Cle de Peau’s Concealer is wonderfully creamy and really blends like a dream as long as you’ve moisturized well underneath. The pigmentation is pretty fantastic, meaning a little really goes a very long way and you won’t need to layer and layer to achieve the coverage that you desire, and what’s really fantastic is that this works for both the undereye area (no nasty creeping or crepiness) and the rest of your face. I use mine to conceal dark circles, blemishes, redness in my cheeks, and pretty much anything and everything else.

Other than the price there’s very little not to love about this product, but I should warn that if your skin is very dry or you don’t moisturize really well, this can drag and look a little dry/chalky. However, it’s by far the best concealer that I’ve ever tried and I see myself using up all of my petite little stick.

Check out the swatches of Cle de Peau’s Concealer in shade Ivory below:

See isn’t the coverage just dreamy? I know that a $70 concealer really isn’t within a lot of people’s budgets, but if you’re like me and like to splurge on a beauty product every now and then, this one is really worth it. I love mine so much that I’ll even use it as an all-over foundation on occasion (I know I’m crazy and this is waaaaaay to expensive to use that way lol) when I’ve got nothing else in my purse.

Have you tried this yourself? Thoughts? I’m thinking I’d love to try La Mer’s new (rereleased) concealer at some point to compare since I’ve been hearing that it’s HG material.

This product was a gift from the always amazing Nicole – I’ve gotten to try so many incredible products thanks to her generosity and thoughtfulness!

I am glad to see you post again! How are you feeling?Whao, it looks awesome! I've always wanted to try this brand out… but it is a little too expensive for me. There are dedicated stores that only sells Cle de Peau in Hong Kong unlike Vancouver where you can only find counters in Holt Renfrew.

  2. Hey Lumkeikei! I'm feeling a lot better, thanks so much for asking. I've still got the remnants of a nasty cough and I seem to be constantly exhausted for some reason, but otherwise I'm right as rain :). I've absolutely LOVED each and every Cle de Peau product that I've tried, but every time I fork over that handful of cash to pay for a product, my wallet cries just a little. It's so cool that you have Cle de Peau dedicated stores in HK! I've only ever seen them at counters and while that's great, I'd love to hear more about the brand from a store that actually knows all about it.

  3. Glad to see you back!! Hope you are feeling OK and that work isn't super busy!I'm glad such an expensive product has turned out to work awesome for you! We finally have a Cle de Peau counter at Holt Renfrew in Calgary, but it's pretty tiny, and there is never anyone there when I head down… not to mention the CAD prices are even higher and give me more of a sticker shock!*I* still want you to try the La Mer one even though it's not available here. XD; I think you get more product vs this concealer?

  4. Justine sadly this week is shaping up to be yet another crazy one – I'll be heading home around nine thirtyish and unfortunately doing more work from home.I really want to try the la mer – I don't know if it's a much better value than the cdp but I've heard such good things and I like that it cones with it's own little brush. Definitely next on my list of concealers to try!

I've heard things about this concealer for years and years. But I've never really used concealer but I have started to use a liquid concealer for under-eye circles (I never used to get them! I blame studying.) and my horrible spider veins on my cheeks and then I top it off with powder, since I can't use foundation and all. This concealer does sound very good though but yes, the price! Yikes! Oh, as a very dedicated and loyal reader, I went and bought the Skin79 Gold Caviar BB Cream. Hehe. It's shipping itself from Korea, right now. Wheee! I swear this blog is bad for me and my bank account. :p

  6. Bee I know what you mean about suddenly developing dark circles. I had line-free, dark circle free eyes for my entire life, then started law school and it was hello dark circles and undereye unpleasantness! I've never been much of a concealer user as it's one extra step I generally can't be bothered with, but I love the cle de peau so much that I find myself reaching for it all the time.I hope that you love the skin69! It did good things for my skin and is one of my fave bb creams.Btw just had to say I've missed hearing from you (my own fault for being a lazy blogger)!

  7. It totally delivers considering it's a little too pricey. I can see how this product can do wonders.

I am loving this review–it is well rounded and straight forward. I've been wanting to try this concealer for quite some time, but money just isn't there for such a fun splurge. I thank you though for this review–now I know for sure it does what all the hype has said about it 🙂

  9. All Women Stalker it really is pretty wonderful, and I don't even like concealers!

  10. Thank you so much Heather, I really appreciate that! I don't know if it's as good as or better than the La Mer Concealer, which I have yet to try, but it's pretty amazing in my book. Definitely a must have for me!
