Guerlain ‘Imperial Holiday’ 2009 Holiday Color Collection

October 21, 2009

For the 2009 holiday season, Guerlain introduces Imperial Holiday, a colour collection worthy of royalty and fit to bring out every woman’s inner empress. The Guerlain Empress is a dreamy modern beauty who plays with makeup to feel radiant, for an evening, for a special occasion, or for a lifetime.

Inspired by the opulence and splendor of aristocracy, Guerlain’s colour collection combines shades of gold with diamonds reflections ~ gold, diamonds pearls ~ every precious metal is represented in this bedazzling collection.

While I’m absolutely loving the crystallized Rouge G de Guerlain packaging (see below), my favorite piece from each and every Guerlain holiday collection is always the Meteorites Pearls ($53), and this year is no exception. For Holiday 2009, Guerlain has brought us Meteorites in 3 new shades for the season: mauve and white to illuminate, pink for freshness, and gold for light.

The limited-edition #407 Bal de Nuit Eye Shadow Palette ($58) combines intensity and softness with a blend of smoky, luminous, and pearlescent tones. It contains two taupes, a lingerie pink and a slightly gold-tinged white.

And as they have for many preceding seasons, Guerlain brings us yet another opulent rendition of its Sublime Radiant Powder for Face and Body ($85), a deliciously violet-scented silky and ultra-light powder that graces skin with a sheer veil of diamond-like reflections. A truly sensuous experience.

Be sure to check out additional collection photos after the jump!

Two limited edition shades of Rouge G de Guerlain, #11 Grace and #12 Gems ($45) will be available in new black-crystal enhanced tubes for the holidays, for an added touch of refinement and modernity.

Imperial Holiday also brings us three scintillating limited edition shades of the new KissKiss Glosses in #807 Perle de Lune, #808 Ambre Precieuse, and #809 Rubis Rose ($29).

If you’re looking to splurge a little, the Limited Edition Meteorites Compact ($180) brings you the luminosity of Meteorites in convenient pressed form. The new size of the color shades, presented as miniature ‘flecks,’ makes blending easier and the unique formulation ensures ultimate softness. And the compact encrusted with black Swarovski crystals definitely makes a statement.

And to round out the collection we have Guerlains Le2 Mascara in limited edition shade #12 Reine de Nuit ($35). While Guerlain’s double-ended mascara isn’t one of my favorites, I do appreciate the beauty of having an ultra-black mascara on one end and a glittery gold one on the other.

Availability: Guerlain’s ‘Imperial Holiday’ Collection is available starting October 2009 (meaning now!) at select Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, Bloomingdales and Bergdorf Goodman stores.
