One Color Fits All: Perricone MD’s No Foundation Foundation

May 19, 2009
An age-fighting makeup that provides natural coverage and nonchemical SPF 30 protection. Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation offers translucent coverage allowing the natural health and glow of skin to shine through while protecting the complexion against damaging UV rays. It works to correct skin undertones and offers all-day moisture, providing an even, dewy finish. A dose of specially treated pigments, blended with light diffusing mica, instantly soften the look of lines, wrinkles, and pores, creating a flawlessly radiant look.

In my opinion, the one-size-fits-all concept always sounds pretty great in theory, but never works out so well in practice, so the idea of a one color fits all “foundation” obviously has me intrigued. Color me skeptical, but I just can’t imagine a decent-coverage foundation that would work well for the Alex Wek’s of the world while also looking great on those with a more Natalia Vodianova-y complexion.

But this little blurb from New York Magazine has me dying to try this. Check out their comments!

“Our panel of testers ranged from pale white to dark-skinned black, with some olive and tan tones thrown in for good measure. Surprisingly, the foundation blended with everyone’s skin, and coverage was subtle and natural looking. A couple of testers found it a tad bit greasy, while (strangely) the one tester with oily skin didn’t find it greasy in the least bit. But we must say that, though the foundation matched everyone perfectly, the dark-skinned black tester found it worked better as a matte-ifier (not a lot of coverage). In any case, no need to buy multiple foundations when you go from winter white to summer tan.”

Are you a believer?
