Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick Review & Swatches

Bobbi Brown Face Touch Up Stick ($22)
Keep your foundation looking fresh all day with Bobbi’s Face Touch Up Stick. Carry this mini stick in your makeup bag, and use it to conceal any imperfections, redness or blemishes. Its creamy, full-coverage formula is perfect for the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin (not the under eye area), and is ideal for normal and combination skin types.

The Formula: I received Bobbi Brown’s Face Touch Up Stick (in Shade #5 Sand) as a gift a few weeks back, and it’s become an indispensable part of my makeup bag ever since. The formula is creamy, pigmented, and blends relatively easily while maintaining good staying power–everything that I look for in an on-the-go foundation/concealer product. I love how tiny and portable this is, and the fact that I can just dab it directly onto my blemishes without the need for carrying any additional brushes.

My oily skin does mean that this doesn’t stay put on me all day long, but the staying power really is decent for such a nice creamy formula. The other day I discovered this gigantor disgusting monster of a pimple taking up residence on my nose. I immediately whipped out my Touch Up Stick, ran to the bathroom, and my mini makeup crisis was averted! While I do wear foundation, towards the end of the day my face could use a little bit of a refresher, and Bobbi Brown’s Touch Up Stick is the perfect little tool to achieve that end.

All Blended

The Shade Selection: One thing I wasn’t entirely crazy about was the shade selection. I have this in #5 Sand, whch I happen to think is a bit too dark/yellow for me, although once blended it really does conceal beautifully. I’ve heard many complaints that Bobbi Brown’s face products all learn towards being on the “too-yellow” end of the color spectrum, and I’d definitely have to agree.

The Verdict: Bobbi Brown’s Face Touch Up Stick was recently awarded ‘Best Undercover Agent’ from “O” Magazine’s 2009 Spring Makeup O-wards, and while I’m not 100% satisfied with the shade, I’m definitely loving the portability, creaminess and coverage. If you’re like me and feel the need to touch up your makeup throughout the day, this could be the product for you!
